I am trying to monitor/extract data from a GE Healthcare B650. I have the required cables that are displayed in your manual and I have the software installed.
However it recognizes the port en device but then starts to toggle between CON, ON (for 10-12 sec) and then to OFF. This continues and monitor data is never displayed on the software.
Any ideas how to fix these problems?

In my experience this happens when you try to use an incompatible USB-serial cable and/or you don't use a null modem (which isn't the same as a male-to-male connector) to connect the USB-serial cable on the monitor side and the USB-serial cable on the computer side.
The VitalDB docs say you need to use a ATEN UC-232A USB serial converter. This isn't quite true: you need to use one with serial number Z3L1 or below. The later models use a different chipset which the Carescape monitor cannot detect. You can find them on eBay or niche electronics retailers. Another option is to use a Startech ICUSB232V2 - this is available on Amazon and is the solution I use.
