Data stream via network switches #137

Hello

I am considering capturing all data from ourt 12 theatres using this system. MX800 to VitalDB.

I would need to gather all the datastreams into one place and then use 3 of these https://www.ple.com.au/Products/618584/Startech-4-Port-USB-to-DB9-RS232-Serial-Adapter">https://www.ple.com.au/Products/618584/Startech-4-Port-USB-to-DB9-RS232-Serial-Adapter to pipe all the data into one machine.

Is there a reason that the data streams from the MX800 are incompatible with standard managed switches.

My plan had been to to have MX800 (x12) MIB port --> special home made 3 wire cat6 cable --> hospital ethernet network --> data room --> rj45--db-9 conveter (x12) into dedicated data server PC.

Will this work?

thanks

Daniel

If different MX monitors are assigned to different serial ports, there should be no problem. In fact, there is a research team using similar setting. Try using the multi-tab feature supported by recent versions of VR.
However, we haven't tested the equipment you're talking about, so we can't be sure that your equipment is adequate to handle the large amounts of data from the 12 Philips monitors.
