Feature Request - B. Braun SpaceCom/SpacePort Syringe Pump Driver (RS-232/TCP/IP) #726
Hi VitalDB Team,
Thank you for this fantastic open-source software—it's a game-changer for data acquisition in large animal research at Nord University!
I'm unable to collect data from our B. Braun SpaceCom/SpacePort syringe pump rack using Vital Recorder. The rack supports these protocols over TCP/IP or RS-232 serial:
-
BCC 3.26
-
PHI IBS BCC 3.26
-
Copra
-
SpaceChart/Qcare
-
BCC 3.37
-
PHI IBS BCC 3.37
Setup Details:
-
Using original B. Braun RS-232 crossover cable (SP Type 8713237) connected to PC serial port.
-
Baud rate: 9600, N-8-1 (both ends); SpaceCom set to export via serial.
-
Enabled all protocols on SpaceCom, but Vital Recorder shows no connection/detection.
We successfully retrieve full pump data via TCP/IP (BCC 3.26) using ICU Pilot software.
Requests:
-
Add driver support for at least one protocol (e.g., BCC 3.26 or PHI IBS).
-
Confirm pinout for recommended patch cable—is it identical to B. Braun's RS-232 crossover (Type 8713237)?
-
Ideally, enable TCP/IP acquisition to reduce cable clutter in our lab.
Screenshots/config files available. Happy to test beta drivers!
